Greenwood, Sir Granville George (1850–1928), politician and animal welfare reformer, was born in London on 3 January 1850, the second son of John Greenwood QC (1800–1871) of the western circuit (solicitor to the Treasury, 1866–71) and his wife, Fanny H. Welch.
